The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, located in Pontiac, Michigan, provides pay differential and full benefits for its Guard and Reserve employees and has purchased laptop computers for deployed employees use “in-country”.
Sheriff Bouchard and several deputies had traveled to Walter Reed hospital to visit two of their wounded patriots. The Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the US Army in the “Partnership for Youth Success Program”. The program recruits Armed Forces members for employment and currently has 12 Guard and Reserve members who are Sheriff Deputies. “The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office continues to be a tremendous support system to the individuals who are deployed around the world and their families,” said nominator Marine Corps Reserve Sergeant Shawn Wilson.
