Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) has a long history of supporting the Guard and Reserve. The department employs 365 military reservists and has had 151 of its members recalled to active duty.
LASD is setting the standard for other public safety agencies in supporting the military reservists. They continue benefits, paid military leave and actively support the military family members.
The associates are authorized to wear their military decorations and awards on their uniforms. Returning members are also partnered with a mentor to refresh, update and enhance their job skills.
